- Do you like helping others?
- Do you wish you had known this much when you started university?
- Are you good at connecting people and building a community?
If so, why not become a senior student and support freshmen at the faculty?
Besides the good feeling, you can gain the following from this role:
- Meeting new people and build (professional) relationships.
- Learning new skills that you can put into practice at the university or later in the workplace.
- You can include your experience in your CV.
- Scholarship – seniors receive a contract with the university.
What does it mean to be a senior?
As a senior student, you take part in the weekly mentor classes of a fixed group alongside a mentor teacher, helping freshmen integrate into the university both academically and socially. (For BSc students, these mentor classes last 45 minutes per week, and for MSc students, 90 minutes per week.) You discuss questions, share your experience and help building the community.
How can you become a senior?
To become a senior, apply by 31 March 2026 (Tuesday, 23:59).
The senior selection process consists of several stages and unfortunately it is possible to be eliminated at any stage.
- Based on the applications, a number of candidates will be invited to a personal interview.
- After that, those who move forward will participate in an in-person group training session on the university campus.
- Those who are selected will also join us on a preparation trip to Lake Balaton (expected dates: between 18-20th of June), where we will spend time together preparing for the senior role. Please note that participation in this trip is compulsory for everyone who is invited, and missing it will lead to automatic disqualification from the selection process.
- At the beginning of the semester, we will meet once more as a group; after that, the groups will be assigned and the senior contracts will be finalized.
